What is asylum compared to other immigration options?
How does the asylum procedure?

Only people who are being persecuted for political or religious reasons in their country of origin are entitled to apply for asylum in the European Union. The conditions are governed by the Geneva Convention. An application for asylum must be justified by accurate information and proven by proper documents on the origin and reasons for flight. These data will be examined very closely and then form the basis for your stay in Germany. Asylum seekers in Europe have not the free choice to decide in which European country they want to apply for asylum. After the so-called Dublin Convention, the rule applies that the country of Europe, which was first entered must also be the country where asylum is sought. Asylum seekers cannot wish to stay in Germany or another country. A fair redistribution of asylum seekers to the countries of Europe after a specified ratio is currently in progress. It can also be addressed to your preferences when for example close family members live in the desired destination country.
